Let your jewellery speak for you. Part II

Platinum or white gold
These metals are usually chosen by self-contained, fond of secrets people, who never reveal their true ideas and trust only the one’s very own. These people are aware of one’s worth and find no sense to keep somebody sweet.
A combination of noble white metal and yellow gold is readily chosen by persons with the complicated temper, those who are capricious, whimsical or fickle.

Magic silver
Silver is a special metal, it has a magic bond with the planet Moon. Silver is loved by wizards, magicians, because it strengthens paranormal powers. Mystique-orientated people usually choose only silver. It is a metal of extravagant, pretentious, fantasy-full personalities. No other jewellery can help think, observe and analyze so deep, as the silver does.
Pragmatic, “dry” and depressive people, thinking that silver suppress their resolution and practical ideas and dwarf clarity, will never choose it as their metal. Silver doesn’t suit people who are worried, who get tired frequently and who are convalescent.

Earrings
Small stud earrings which are adherent to the ear-lap is chosen by women who are modest, self-contained. Big hoop earrings are chosen by self-confident, powerful women. Long dangling earrings are the decorations of coquettes. Huge colorful gemstones are chosen by artistic, creative people.

Rings
It seems that thin and conservative rings should evidence the humbleness and good taste. However, sometimes people wearing such rings are willing to become other’s center of attention and care. They associate tiny rings with their supposed frailty, helplessness. Therefore, don’t be deluded.
Massive rings with huge gemstones or initials are the symbols of the power, they reveal an objective of the wearer to dominate and to be loved by the people around. According to the psychologist, a massive ring on the women’s finger means that her word is the final. The more rings on fingers there are, the more superfluous and envious the person is.
Graceful, tasty, mild shining ring betray its wearer being a sensitive, and willing to go deep into the shadings of the intercommunication.

Hand-made jewellery
Hand-made jewellery reveals creative nature of the person. If you ever meet your boss wearing red feather or button necklace you can change your attitude towards her right away, since she is really earth-born and more sensitive than you though.

Brooches
The purpose of this jewellery is to distract the attention from its wearer. It seems that brooch is pined in order to hide the eyes, lips and soul of the women. This item, symbolizing self-containing, is to be chosen in order to step to the shadow and not to let anybody into one’s closed world.

Chains
Chains are neutral jewellery which is sort-of invisible, unless it is bold and massive. Chains are to be chosen by people who want to demonstrate their superiority. It is common that such people are not into romantics or challenges. They try not to shock other people by their behavior. However, they are always waiting for appreciation and for encouragement.

Let your jewellery speak for you. Part I

By choosing one kind of jewellery or the other, we betray our character to the people around us..

Old and antique jewellery
Everyone should be particularly careful with the antique jewellery. That is because gemstones absorb the energy of its wearer and later radiate it for a long time. However, not looking at its fateful impact, vintage jewellery is still highly valued around the world.
If your friend has courage to wear antique jewellery, be sure; he or she is strong, forceful person who can control the negative energy of the gemstones. It is better not to go into disputes with such person, do not fight with him or her, because they can be really dangerous enemies. However, this is rare case. Antique jewellery might dish a weaker person, or, most often, overburden with grief, bad mood, depression and other health troubles.
An alternative to antique jewellery is so called vintage jewellery, which is usually a newly-made jewellery the style of which remind an old, antiwue jewellery.

What does gemstone reveal?
The willingness to wear extremely expensive jewellery reveals not only persons independence and strength, but also his or her self-interest. Such people are often manipulative. Women who like expensive jewellery are more often manipulating men, their feelings, money, and rarely love somebody. Diamond-owners might sometimes feel distrust to people around them; even to those, who are giving this gemstone as a present. Pearls are chosen by careful, practical, rational and pragmatic people. Pearls reveal conservative attitude of their owner. Emeralds are often the gemstones of creative, imaginative people who also have rich intuition. From the first sight it might seem that the owners of emeralds are shy, and even withdrawn, this is a deceptive impression; on the contrary, they are strong and staunch.

Ethnic-style jewellery
These are usually few-row necklaces made of bamboo, coral, amber, stones, shells, clay, wood, etc. It can also be pendants, bracelets, earrings. Such jewellery should disclose democratic, creative persons, who love novelties. However, be careful and do not be deluded. Sometimes ethnic style is only a mask. Sometimes such jewellery is worn by narcissists, who love to be in the center of attention.
For example, Indy style jewellery, that is, multi-layered bracelets, necklaces, beads, rings and earrings are often worn trying to enhance altruistic nature, mystery and spirituality. Amber jewellery is worn on purpose to enhance nationality, gipsy jewellery enhances independence and romance, Spanish jewellery – fatal passion, Japanese jewellery – modesty, humility, African – the joy of life.

Bijouterie
Cheap, tawdry and expensive jewellery is difficult to tell from natural jewellery.
Women who love bijouterie might be a little light-headed, men can be distinguished by impatience and short temper. Actually, both of them are better lovers than spouses. According to the psychologists, the lovers of fancy bijouterie are not willing to shoulder liability for something.
However, meretricious jewellery was loved by the famous Coco Chanel. Cultured pearls where here favorites. She even used to say: „No matter how much it cost as long as it looks perfectly“.

Necklaces
Long, multi-strand necklaces witness that its wearer knows her value. Such women usually live (or at least try to) comfortably and interestingly. She is surrounded by beautiful home appliances, fashionable clothes, she chooses good food and drinks and enjoys the life.
Shorter, multi-strand necklaces betray the pride of the wearers feminine nature, generosity of the soul, thirst for new adventures. Totally short necklaces which are adherent to the neck is particular challenge to men: they have to conquer such women, while she will be able to choose Mr. Right.

Gold is mostly associated with wealth, money, love and power. Mostly the attraction of gold is felt by those who feel lack of will, determination, those who feel put-upon. However, also gold is love by those who were loved from the early childhood but now fell outcast. Gold is what help people to find strength and power to live.
On the other hand, gold also attract totally opposite people, that is, the ones who are masterful, strict, strong, who value love and strong friendship. Such men and women value the quality of golden jewellery, draws authoritative inspiration from it. Some of them even sleep wearing such jewellery (especially the one that is inherited).
Gold is a mankind and paternal symbol. It is on purpose that girls who grow up without a father or women, who lack confidence and attention from men, are inclined to wear golden jewellery.

Where to keep jewellery Part III

Today’s post is about the second category of jewellery keepers. It’s a fun, beautiful and practical approach to keep all jewelry in one place. It is basically three similar designs, but I can not think of the common name for these – jewellery trees and jewellery hangers.. so I’ll just talk about all of them separately and maybe then I’ll choose how to call them one-word.

Jewellery trees can be a functional and artistic. These are an immitations of trees, which have a trunk and branches. For example:

Your rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets can land on such jewellery tree. The advantage of such organizer is that in most case the jewellery doesn’t tangle, doesn’t have a contact with each other and thus doesn’t damage each other. You can always see your beautiful jewellery and you don’t have to search for it for hours. I like such organizer because it not only serves the sole purpose of displaying jewellery, but it can also add the decorative feel of your home.
However, since such trees will probably be kept on the desk or on the table, their disadvantage, imho, would be that they are visible to everyone. Again, your jewellery then loses its privacy.

Jewellery hangers differ from jewellery trees in their design. They look like a smaller version of a hallstand and their design can also vary. Take a look at the examples:

Some of jewellery hangers can be wall-mounted and therefore allows you to save some space. Disadvantage is the same – jewellery is too visible. But if you love explicitly glory your jewellery, this will be perfect for you.  The great design can become a part of your home décor.

I am now a bit confused on whether there is any difference between the jewellery hanger and jewellery stand? Let me know if you have any ideas, and let’s unravel this jelter-skelter together ;)

I will  edit this post later by adding more concrete information so come back later ;)

Where to keep jewellery Part II

Here is the Part II of the results of our small research.

We now have six major categories of jewellery organizers. Let’s list them:
  1. Boxes
  2. Stands/ trees/ hangers/ tiers
  3. Screens
  4. (Hanging) pocket keepers/ organizers
  5. Jewellery cabinets
  6. Improvised jewellery organizers

In this post I will discuss some main + and – of the first category – jewellery boxes.

I’ll begin with simple one-section jewellery boxes, which can vary in size. Example:
Advantage – good if you don‘t have lots of jewellery and the ones that you have are made of the same material (I believe you know, that each piece of jewellery made from different materials should be kept separated). Gold rings and necklaces should be kept separated from silver rings and necklaces.  It is nice to have few such boxes for some special jewellery that you adore and that reminds you of precious moments or special people. Lets use these uniquely designed one-section boxes for single pieces of jewellery.

Disadvantage – if you have lots of jewellery, you will definitely need more than one box. How many you’ll need? And how much space they will take? Will it be comfortable to look through all of these boxes when searching for jewellery you need on this special/important Tuesday? Or will you learn the contents of each box by heart? :) Consider this.

Then there are jewellery boxes that have separate sections for rings and for other jewellery.

These boxes IMHO are great for jewellery sets. If you have one necklace that goes perfectly with few of your rings, why not to put all of them into one box? So the advantage is that you can keep more than one piece of jewellery in it and that you can organize your jewellery according to its color/style/whatever.

The disadvantage – there still is not enough room for all of your jewellery, not even close to it..

So again, it is useful when you have just a few jewellery pieces, otherwise you’ll have the same mess that I already have :)

There are also bigger jewellery boxes with several sections-drawers and even mirrors.
Advantages – practical, because there is a mirror and quite a lot of drawers and separated spaces. You can keep it in your bedroom, or where there is no mirror. The second picture illustrates the men’s jewellery organizer. They might also need these ;) Consider this when making your Christmas present list :) These are useful for those who like the variety of jewellery materials – they gives an opportunity to keep your jewellery separated so that they would not be harmed by each other.
I can’t see disadvantages of these, but I would say that classic design of the box (as in the pictures above) requires classic jewellery to be kept in it, but then where to put all of your hand-made jewellery or bijouterie??

Here comes, as I call them, monster-boxes. By the word “monster” I mean huge. These are also called jewellery storage chests.
I will begin with disadvantages. The first thing that I don’t like about this-kind of plastic transparent organizer is that… it looks cheap. Call me finicky, but big pieces of transparent plastic look cheap to me.. The second thing – I don’t want my whole jewellery to be seen by everyone. I think jewellery has to have some secret, and therefore it should be kept more privately. If this would not be transparent I think I would consider it as an option.. I am still not sure about the solar effect on jewellery which is kept in transparent boxes, but I promise to find this out. And I am pretty sure that this could be another disadvantage…

What about advantages? Well, on the other hand, it might be useful. Due to its transparency you can see what’s inside and you don’t have to waste your time searching and thinking where on earth are your favourite earrings

And this is probably it. All boxes now have been discussed, and next post will be about jewellery stands, trees, hangers and tiers.

Since it looks like I am still writing this blog for myself (only 46 page views much of which are mine..) I encourage YOU, as one of the first unique visitors, post, comment and share you insights! I would be grateful!

See you soon!

Where to keep jewellery

I love jewellery. I am addicted to jewellery. If only I could afford myself, I could buy it almost every second day :) whenever my friends go abroad, they do not have to die trying to think what to bring me form their trip – of course, jewellery!

My addiction is already 5 years-old now (how old is yours?) and I am afraid to think of the amount of earrings and rings I possess. No surprise, there is a mess in my jewellery box (-es). Therefore, a few days ago I have decided to sort all the things out. I made a small research on how to organize jewellery and I would like to share my findings with you.

Of course, the www is full of great ideas. Of the bad-ones too. How not to lose in such a mess of jewellery organizing tips, tricks and advises? To begin with, I would like you to go to Google images search and type in „jewellery organizer“ or „where to keep jewellery“, so that you would have a better understanding on what we are going to talk about. Don‘t forget to come back! :)

Are you back yet? Do you imagine the „enormousity“ of the jewellery organizers variety? We will have to sort these things out step by step. In this post let’s just determine the main types of jewellery organizers.
The most common is probably simple jewellery boxes, which you can find and buy in almost any local shop or shopping center.  The others, such as stands/trees/hangers/tiers, screens, (hanging) pocket keepers/organizers, cabinets can be found in specialized stores and of course, in ebays, amazons and other e-shops. And the third type – improvised jewellery organizers. These are handmade pieces-of-art which are eye-catching and practical at the same time. These are usually found when visiting neighbours, aunties or spending time on tiny internet websites which belong to diligent-hand-owners :)

I suppose I have mentioned the main categories, but if you think I have missed something, just let my now by posting below the article. I would appreciate your contribution ;) In the future posts I will discuss all of these categories in detail, I will give visual examples, and I will try to discover the advantages and disadvantages of each organizer. You are also welcome to share your experiences!

I believe in the course of time we will scan all of the jewellery-sorting possibilities and the mess will be gone from our jewellery boxes!

Jewellery depending on... occasion

Benjamin Franklin once said, “Remember not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult still, to leave unsaid the wrong at the tempting moment”. The first part of the same rule applies for jewellery wearing – there should be the right jewellery in the right place. The second part of the rule is also worth of attention – you better take of your sparkling cocktail ring when going for shopping, even if this is your favorite one and you want everyone to know that you are the owner of this beauty. Smile.

For an everyday wear in business world choose gold and silver earrings and silver necklaces. These pieces of jewellery should be rather small so that they would not compel your collocutor. All metal accessories should be of the same color, since it is seldom that gold and silver are in harmony with each other.
Leisure wear allows you for a combination of accessories of a varied forms, materials and colors. However, always consider the image you are trying to achieve. Would you like to look romantic, athletic or are you going to posh party?

Bear in mind, that necklaces with diamonds or other precious stones should not be worn during the day.
Neck jewellery should match your neckline. Your bracelets and bangles should be chosen not only according to each other but also according to the necklace.

Never forget that the choice of your jewellery should depend not only on the occasion or your mood, but also on the environment you are going to be in. Some gemstones are susceptible to sudden temperature changes (e.g. topaz earrings, garnet, peridot pendants, rhodolite, tanzanite, tiger‘s eye, tourmaline), some to strong light (e.g. kunzite (spodmene), scapolite, zircon) and some to excessive heat (e.g. rhodochrosite, yellow beryl (heliodor)). Gembid.co.uk, an online jewellery shop and auction, will provide you with the comprehensive information on how to take care of your gemstone jewellery.
